Surviving Chicago's cold winter

Chicago is colder than NYC. I have been in Chicago for about 3 months now, however I still do not get used to this freeeeeezing COLD weather.

I have been into making some recently like I was in high school many years ago. BTW, I made this cup!

Before I was using regular milk to make a cup of chai, however after I learned about almond milk, I have been using almond milk instead of milk. It tastes better too. Using regular milk makes me concerned about hormones.

I love soy milk, but I cannot find good tasting soy milk in America so...

These are spices and tea that I put in my chai. They are black peppercorns, cinnamon sticks, cardamom, cloves and some earl gray tea.

I put some fresh ginger that will make my body warmer.

It has been a while, but cooked some azuki beans today. I think it taste much better than buying in a can. I like how I can reduce amount of sugar that I can put in. I do not have to worry about preservative either. I made some kabocha and azuki nimono.

    1. Thanks! You should try almond milk. It's yummy. I prefer unsweetened one.
