Although my friends told me flying with a toddler will be much harder than a 2 month old baby, I was nervous about my flight with Mia from Austin, Texas to LA and LA to Narita because it was my first time flying with a baby.
友達にはハイハイできる赤ちゃんの方が飛行機は大変だよと言われたけどテキサスから成田までの初めての娘との飛行機はめちゃめちゃ緊張。
I am the kind of person who like to carry a lot of stuff whenever I travel, but this time I managed to pack it light. I only put 3 different outfits; there were more of MIa's stuff(clothe, diapers, wipes, bottles and etc) in my backpack. I always get amazed how much stuff that a small baby need!
私はいつもどこかに行く時は物が多いタイプ。赤ちゃんってとにかく色々な物（オムツや着替えなどなど）が必要なので今回は私の着替えは３着しかリュックには入れなかった。
I felt lucky during my flight from Austin to LA because there was an empty seat that I could put Mia in. Mia slept through most of the time during our flight.
オースチンからLAまでの飛行機は空席があったので持ってきたチャイルドシートを使って娘を座らせたのでけっこう楽だった。実愛ちゃんは飛行機が気持ちよかったのか爆睡。
When I talked to a flight attendant in LA about my seat, I was told I got a baby seat. A baby seat is a normal economy seat that have a space to hang a baby bassinet on a wall.
LAに着いてから私の席についてフライトアテンダントの人に聞いてみたら新生児用かご型ベッドの付いたベビーシートですよと教えてくれた。
This bassinet got a seat belt for a baby.
なんとこの新生児用かご型ベッドはシートベルト付！
I thought I was going to be able to sleep during my trip from LA to Narita, however a fight attendant told me that I have to hold Mia in my hands when I see a seat belt sign on that made me to realize that I cannot really sleep...
シートベルトが付いてるから私も寝れるのかと思ったら、スチュワーデスの人にシートベルトのサインが出たら赤ちゃんは手でしっかり持って下さいと言われ、LAから成田までは全然寝れなかった。
Having Mia has been an interesting experience for me because we get a lot of attention from women whenever we go somewhere. And of course Mia got a lot of attention from women on a plane. One of flight attendants held Mia often when I had to go to a bathroom.
娘が生まれてからはゆく女性の注目を集めるようになった。もちろん機内で話しかけてくるのは女の人達。私はもうすぐおばあちゃんになるんですよと話しかけてくる人もいた。一人のスチュワーデスは私がトイレに行く時は実愛ちゃんを抱っこしてくれたりした。

I did not carry on some baby cream and diaper cream this time, but I realized Mia's eczema and diaper rash got worse after being on the airplane for many hours. I think air inside of airplanes is dry that is not good for a baby's sensitive skin. Thus I recommend to carry on some baby cream and diaper rash cream.
今回は機内にベビークリームとおむつかぶれ用のクリームを機内に持っていかなかったのですが、飛行機から降りたら娘の乳児湿疹やおむつかぶれがひどくなってたので次回は機内にまで忘れずにベビークリームとおむつかぶれ用のクリームを持参しようと思った。
Although it took us 2 hours and half to get to Shinjuku from Narita airport, we took an airport limousine bus to Shinjuku because I felt too tired to move around with a big American stroller and a big backpack. A traffic was just bad! It took 1 extra hour for us to get there
疲れていたので駅構内を大きなアメリカのベビーカーで移動する自信がなく成田からはリムジンバスで新宿へ。高速道路が交通渋滞だったので１時間遅れで新宿着。
My mother told me that I looked really tired when she saw my face after getting off from the bus.
３年ぶりに会った母からは顔が疲れていると言われた。
