Tsukiji fish market / 築地

I woke up at 5 am this morning to give Tsukiji fish market tour to three Americans.

今朝は朝の５時起きで築地市場のツアーをやった。
お客さんは三人のアメリカ人。一人はニューヨークから来ていて、もう二人はピッツバーグから来ていた。

Tsukji inner market was closed, but some stores and restaurant that are in outer market were open. We had little bit of seafood for breakfast.

残念ながら築地市場はお休みでした。でも場外のいくつかのお店は開いていたので簡単なシーフードの朝食。

After Tsukiji, we visited Hamarikyu Garden for some mattcha and Wagashi.

築地の後は浜離宮公園で抹茶と和菓子を楽しんだ。

The ferry ride from Hamarikyu Garden to Asakusa was lovely!

浜離宮公園から浅草までは水上バスを利用。天気が良くてとても気持ちがよかった。

Harajuku, Omotesando, Shibuya and Ebisu tour / 原宿-表参道-渋谷-恵比寿ツアー

I gave an evening tour of Harajuku, Omotesando, Shibuya and Ebisu to an Indian guy from San Francisco.

久しぶりに原宿、表参道、渋谷と恵比寿の夜のツアー。
今回の人はサンフランシスコに在住のインド人。

He wanted to see art and architecture in Tokyo which was quite unusual, but I became excited because art and architecture are my favourite things.

珍しくアートと建築を見たいとお客さんからのリクエスト。私は、びっくりするやら、嬉しいやら•••


We met at Kiddy Land at 6PM and walked to Takeshita street to see young Japanese girls.

原宿のKiddy Landで１８時に会って竹下通りへ。


We walked to Omotesando Hills to see Tadao Ando's architecture.

その後は安藤さんの建築物を見に表参道ヒルズに行った。

After that I took him to Aoyama to experience Prada by Herzog & de Meuron.

安藤さんの建築の後はもちろん青山のプラダでヘルツォーク&ド・ムーロン。

I felt lucky that COMME des GARÇONS was still open, so we took the opportunity to see their new outfits for this fall.

コムデギャルソンがまだ開いていたのでコムデギャルソンで服を見学。

We walked to United Nation University, then we saw Taro Okamoto's sculpture.

その後は国連大学の側にある岡本太郎の彫刻を鑑賞。

Since Nonbei Yokocho was on the way to get to the scramble crossing, we walked through Nonbei Yokocho quickly to see tiny bars.

渋谷駅に行く途中にあるのんべい横町をちょっとだけ見た。

We needed some break from a long walk; we sat on the 2nd floor of Starbucks in front of the scramble crossing and I had some caramel pudding frappuccino.

いっぱい歩いて疲れたのでスクランブル交差点のスタバでキャラメルプディングフラペチーノで休憩。


We said hello to Hachiko statue at Shibuya station, saw a big painting of Taro Okamoto, then took JR to visit Ebisu for frozen sake at buri and lovely yuzushio tsukemen at Afuri.

渋谷駅にあるハチ公にこんばんはをして渋谷駅の二階にある大きな岡本太郎の絵画を見てから山手線で恵比寿へ。

恵比寿にあるフローズンのお酒でテレビでも話題になっていたバーのburiで初めてのフローズンのお酒を飲み、そしてゆず塩ラーメンで有名なAfuriでゆず塩つけ麺を楽しんだ。


The yuzushio tsukemen was the perfect way to end my tour!

最後のAfuriのゆず塩つけ麺の締めが良かったなぁ〜

Shabu shabu at Zakuro in Ginza / 銀座のざくろでしゃぶしゃぶ

I had some fantastic shabu shabu at Zakuro in Ginza when I was a tour guide.

初めて美味しいしゃぶしゃぶを銀座にあるざくろで食べた。

Their thinly sliced marble beef melted inside of my mouth as soon as I tasted it.

霜降りのお肉は口に入れたとたんに溶けてしまった。

Their appetizers were terrific as well.
I especially enjoyed their tomato salad.
Their tomatoes were SWEET!

どの前菜も美味しかった。
特にトマトサラダは甘くてペロリと食べてしまった。

I recommend Zakuro in Ginza when you need some good shabu shabu!
